Unemployment is the ever present threat for working class people and the threat of unemployment has long been used by the ruling class to scare the working class into compliance. In particular, it is the go-to tool to scare workers out of supporting progressive movements and policy changes. Our guest, Toni Giplin, argues that for as long as employers have used this danger to scare workers, workers have responded with mass mobilizations to protect their jobs and their comunities and that we can and must recapture that radical tradition.
